This being my second run of the year, due to work and ill health. I was looking forward to this run and with two veteran hares as Apples Turnover and Singapore Sucker I knew we would not be disappointed. The a-site was the same one used on the 999 run so the terrain was very familiar to some of us. When I got to the a-site I was presently surprised to see some of the old faces back. Clit Face and Rottweiler back in the fold and Steamy Lump back from Alaska (for those of you who don’t know him, he is the good RA). Homocyclist from Wales and Ewok put in a rare appearance so she could promote her new bar. It was also nice to see the regular hashers that I have been acquainted with over the years. It felt like the years had rolled away and we were sailing in less turbulent waters once more.
The usual circle to christen the new shoes and then the run was on its way. I was still recovering from my operation so I decided to hang around the a-site and take in the view; yes we still have some quality fanny on the hash. It didn’t seem too long before Uncle Pervy came crushing through the undergrowth shouting on-in. I just can’t believe how fit this man is for his age, he wasn’t even sweating. I went across to offer him my congratulations and in a flash I had a cold beer thrust into my hands.
When the circle was called I was nicely loosened up after the home brew and some reminiscing. The hares were called on ice and a good run was pronounced. I talked to some of the serious runners about this and they said that the run was a little short, 32 minutes when they would have preferred an hour, but let’s remember that these guys set this run at a moments notice and having been down that road myself I know how difficult this can be.  In future though any hares that set a run less than an hour and I’m the scribe, well, look out.
A good circle, the entertainment coming from Sir Airhead and Steamy Lump. Nice to see the bullshit meter back with some refreshing new material. Anniversaries were next, congratulations to Queen Stella and Seaman Swallow with their 150 and 50 runs, Piss Uphill 5 hared runs hat, well done. But what about King Yao Yao! 550 runs, fantastic; that is 10 years and 7 months of hashing on the PH3. For those of you that don’t know, Yao Yao was already a seasoned hasher before he came to Thailand, so I wouldn’t like to guess on how many runs he really has.
After the hash hymn it was on the bus and back to TQ 2. I was impressed that the on-on was well supported by the hash, with many people staying on and enjoying the evening in a display of hash unity, the way it should be.
