Teeny Weeny (RIP)

Sadly, that larger than life character, Norman (Teeny Weeny; Buddha) Fletcher passed away on the 13th.June 2021 while celebrating his 70th birthday in Sydney Australia, surrounded by his many close friends. Norman's first run with PH3 was #416 on the 30th Mar 1992 while his latest was #1864 on the 25th Nov 2019. He was an active hasher while resident in Pattaya and completed 400 runs.

Although not known for his running prowess, (he was a prolific short cutting bastard) he probably spent more time off paper than on, but somehow always managed to finish the runs.
In his early years in Pattaya, Norman was manager of the Green Hut Bar, which also became a happy hour hash bar.
He also participated in the Pattaya Full Moon hash in a big way. Whether it was a Full Moon or the aptly named Mekong Knee walk, he was always involved and was the longest serving Grand Master of the Pattaya Full Moon Hash.
Although Teeny Weeny moved away from Pattaya, he always returned for several months each year. This would be conveyed to all and sundry, by his arrival at the Monday run A-site, with the noise of his big Harley Davison bike, which could be heard well in advance of its actual arrival. (The Thai police used to love him!!!)
The second indicator was that, you could always expect there to be a Full Moon Run / Mekong Knee walk. As preparation for these events, Teeny Weeny would liaison with all the bar owners involved in these events, sometimes involving twenty four establishments. A popular and gregarious character, they all knew him (as well as the girl employees) as he immersed himself in the necessary preparation for each event.
Even in Sydney, he organized several Outstation Full Moon runs, which like the ones in Pattaya, were eagerly anticipated, such was his "pulling power."
Teeny Weeny's daughter, Debbie, informed us that when he passed, he did not want to have a funeral. All he wanted was for everyone to meet up and have a beer to celebrate him. This happened at Bexley RSL on Sunday the 20th June at 1.00pm in Australia, where over fifty friends and family, who he had brought together, over the years, creating a great group who will miss his unusual style. For the rest of us, in Thailand and worldwide, we all raised our glasses to a great friend and hasher. No matter where or what the time difference was.
It is good to know that he was surrounded by good friends when he passed. Our condolences and thoughts go out to his wife Son (Weeny's Teeny).
It is planned to have an annual run in Sydney, in memory of Teeny Weeny, starting next June 2022.
