The Wizard, deputising for the GM, commenced and managed proceedings.
Sad News. TW announced the sad loss of Bam Bam the previous evening. Paul Cade was a stalwart of PH3 and the Monkey for many years. He also had a long time involvement with the Jungle and Bush hashes. His funeral would be held on 1 October. Words of support were also given for Phantom and Who Cut The Cheese , who had both suffered strokes recently.
Hash Crash! Four offenders this week: Seal Sucker, Drew, Drag Queen and Home Brew. All the normal excuses, Seal Sucker denying liability as usual and mine being non-attendance for 8 weeks.
The Trail. Having called in the Hares (Cannonball, Chuck The F___ Up and SLAP) to introduce themselves, TW commented favourably (plenty of paper, good variety of terrain) on the Trail. Other comments: a bit short, enjoyable, multiple options/ missed the splits (see below), clean water next time please, amazing and awesome (!)
The Raffle. Black Panther kindly conducted the event again. Having donated my tickets to Pink Head, she won the first two prizes...
Emperor Airhead. Having complimented the Hares on the Trail, planning, food and parking, EH iced and quizzed Dingo, SLAP, Captain Corruption, Clever Kraut C___ and Fairy Queen on various matters including island tours, partner control and fathering activities
OktoberFest 13 October. TW had been reminded about this event and noted it would probably be oversubscribed, with many newbies. Accordingly songtaews at the Buffalo Bar would run during a revised 1.30pm to 2.45pm period on the day.
Run Awards. Congratulations to Flying Dick Truck F______ (50 runs today), Chuck the F____ Up (5 Hares), Drinks Like a Girl (50 runs), Smokey Trucky F_____ (200 runs) and not least GI Joe (1000 runs!)
Run-Walk Split/Reconverge. A lot of confusion was reported - despite the reconverge at least being clearly marked. The split was missed by some front runners (followed by bee stings) and a number of walking groups, resulting in the latter following the run, or devising their own route. The reconverge was likewise missed by a number of runners. This time it meant some told converging walkers to reverse course. Fortunately Shy Tiger kindly intervened to help us - she knew where to go!
Other Awards. Before the closing ceremony, TW concluded with the remaining awards. Hash Trash - Panzer Fister (left HHH sign at Asian University). W__ker of the Week- Sexy Butterfly ( although 140 runs, took 2 beers from beer Truck). Compensation - Psychedelic (to GI Joe for breaking his chair).
